Hi Aspirant,
While studying in B. Tech you can not apply for the custom officer exam.
You can apply for the custom officer exam only when you are in final year of B. Tech.
It is not necessary to apply for UPSC for the custom officer post. You can also apply for the custom department through SSC exams.
In final year of B. Tech or after completion of your B. Tech you should apply for the SSC CGL (Combined Graduation Level) exam which is conducted once in a year at national level.
To apply for the CGL exam you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility criteria for CGL exam
You should be graduated in any stream from recognized university or its equivalent.
You can also apply for CGL exam in final year of graduation.
You must be in age of 18 to 27 years
Age relaxation as per government norms
SC/ST + 5 years
OBC + 3 years
PH + 10 years
You must be the citizen of India.
SSC publish the notification for CGL exam at its official website as well as employment newspaper.
