The criteria required for the exam:

The candidate must be pass in graduation from a

Recognized indian university

Age limit: The age required is 21-30 for the general candidates

And the age limit for the other back word classes is 21-33

And the age limit for the sc.st category is 21-35

Yes, you can definitely apply for the UPSC examination along with your software job. But you have to fulfill the UPSC's eligibility criteria. The essential qualification for the UPSC's examination generally is to pass the Bachelor degree in any stream at any recognized university. The age limit must be within 21-30years. Because software companies puts lot of work pressure in thir employees.

So, if you are young enough i.e. 22/23 years aged, then you may quit your job although it completely depends on your present socio-economic condition.

Friend, there is no any issue over applying for UPSC Examination while doing any job. I would like to advised that you must appear for UPSC Examinations. You have to make a balance between the your current job and preparation for UPSC Examination. You should make a concrete strategy for preparation by time management, proper planning, severe hard work, dedication and strong determination.

Yes dear sure means you can prepare well for your UPSC exams with doing your software engineering job because it is not tough to prepare for exams and there is not any more and much time needed for UPSC exams to be prepared but there is a strategy to prepare for exams which you should follow during your job.

If you are giving at least 8-10 hours everyday for your job then also you are having about 13-14 hours vacant and if you are taking rest for at least 6-8 hours in the night so you have 4-5 hours which you should use to prepare for your exams means these left hours are enough to prepare for any UPSC exams but you have to study concentratively and follow these guidelines :

>> You have not possible to join any coaching institute then also you should find anybody or any guide who could guide you after your job when you come back to the home

>> You should choose that person who have already that UPSC exam for which you are preparing and take at least 2 hours everyday from them

>> Do not involve yourself in any other work than your study means if you come back to home so that you should not go for market, movie or watch TV

>> Try to keep yourself busy in your study and use your vacant time for study as much as possible

>> You should keep in touch with any coaching institute and collect some notes and study materials which they use to teach their students of the coaching so that you can get the support sometimes when you have any problem in your study about any subject

>> You should take online practice test facility and presently every coaching institute provide this facility to prepare for various exams at your home and when you will get this facility at your own house then you can take some time for your study and prepare well for exams

>> You should not avoid your study but when you get tired from your job you should have some rest but try to make yourself energetic for your study and to crack the exams

Yes you can prepare for the UPSC exam along with the job.

But this will ask for double hard work form your side.

You need to take care of the job that you are doing and then after coming back home,you need to study and prepare for the exam.

See,I will suggest you to take this step only when you have full confidence in yourself that you have the ability to do this and you can do this!

Keep in mind one thing that it is the self study and the amount of hard work that you put after going back home is really what matters.
