A Software Engineer can able to give almost all type of exams conducted
by UPSC/MPSC.because in all exams only graduation is eligibility criteria
,no specialization in any subject is needed.
we can take example of IAS,IPS and MPPSC etc.
but if any post specialist doctor is out on UPSC.Then you can't able to apply.
Well dear as you are a graduate then you are eligible to apply for almost all the exams conducted by upsc/mppsc.the minimum qualification required for these exams is graduation.
ELIGIBILITY FOR UPSC/MPPSC EXAMS:

general-21 to 30 years.
Obc-21 to 33 years
sc/st-21 to 35 years

Software engineering is an graduation course and after graduation every candidate are eligible for civil services examination conducts by Union Public Service Commission.
Engineering graduate are also eligible for Indian Engineering Services Examination.
Requirements :
Candidate must be Indian Civilization.
Candidate must be passed his/her graduation from any recognized university and also can apply in last year of graduation.
For that examination no percentage is required if candidate just have passing marks in graduation are eligible.
Candidate must be under 21-30 years.
3 years age relaxation for BC candidate and 5 year age relaxation for SC/ST candidate.
