Yes dear, you can appear in UPSC engineering service exam. If you are a Marine Engineer. Its require eligibility criteria mention below:-
Eligibility Criteria:-
1. Should be graduate from recognized university.
2. Age should be for General :- 21-30 yrs.
OBC :- 21-33 yrs.
SC/ST :- 21-35 yrs.
3. Should be citizen of India.
Eligibility Criteria for Indian Engineering Service Examination
Candidate should have obtained a degree in Engineering from a recognized university and your discipline of engineering should be any one of the - Civil Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering or
Passed section A and B of institution examinations of the Institution of Engineers India or
Obtained a degree or diploma in engineering from such foreign university/ college/ institution and under such conditions as may be recognized by the government for the purpose from time to time or
Passed graduate membership examination of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers or
Passed Associate membership examination section A and B or the aeronautical society of India or
Passed Graduate membership examination of the institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers London
If you posses a degree in Marine Engineering then you are not eligible to apply for this examination because this will not be accepted by the board but if you posses any other qualification as mentioned above then you can apply for IES examination. If do not have any other qualification then also you should not worry because your marine engineering makes you eligible for other UPSC exams as - Indian Forest Service, Indian Civil Service, Combined Defense Service. for more details, you should visit at www.upsc.gov.in
