    Dear friend,

Taking coaching after class 12th is not an issue. As early you will start your preparation you will have more chances of clearing it.

So of course you can take coaching for IAS after you finish your 12th class.

Here IAS exam means Civil services exam.

    Pattern of civil exam is:

    • Prelims
    • Mains
    • Interview
    >> Now answer of your second question is that yes it is compulsory to give IAS exam after graduation only as graduation is a mandatory requirement for IAS.

Although final year appearing candidates of graduation are eligible for the exam.

So I would like to advice you that first you clear your graduation and then appear for the exam.

You can continue your coaching during your graduation days.

    >> One more point worth mentioning is the limited no of attempts you have for IAS exam i.e,

    general- 4 attempts
    OBC- 7 attempts
    SC/ST- unlimited no. of attempts

Also age limit is to be kept in mind.

its 21 to 30 yrs for general.
    21 to 33 for OBC
    21 to 35 for SC/St and
    21 to 40 for PH.

Yes. You can take coaching for IAS exam after completion of 12th class.

There is nothing wrong in that and infact this is the best thing for the candidates.

It is mandatory that you should complete your Graduation to apply for IAS Exam.

So join Graduation first and carry out your preparation for IAS Exam simultaneously.

Decide upon optional subject and carry out the preparation.

Once complete Graduation, apply for this exam.

If you want to apply for IAS examination then you should be graduate from a recognized university in any discipline from a recognized university or any other equivalent qualification and your age should be minimum 21 years to apply and should not be more than 30 years of age but if you belongs to reserved category then you can get relaxation in upper age that is 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC category means graduation is must to be eligible for IAS Examination

If you want to start coaching institute from 12th for IAS examination then there is no problem because you will prepare for this test before your graduation and when you will be eligible in final year then you will get qualified in examination at once but everything will be depended on you because you will have to manage both graduation and study for IAS examination that demands more time so you have to be free from all others works and dedicated only to study then only you will be able to control on both exams

    Take more details from www.upsc.gov.in

    All the best
