hello. i am a class 12th commerce student and want to prepare myself for IAS from class 12th itself. please suggest me some ways to get myself prepared for IAS and do tell me which course should i opt for after 12th class as i am confused between LAW and b.com . please guide me which course would be beneficial for me to get into IAS ? and give me some tips of what should i do in class 12th itself so that i would have good chances in IAS .

First go to official websites of UPSC (www.upsc.gov.in).Analyze the pattern of examination means in how many phase it is conducted.Download syllabus.For time being you should start your preparation for preliminary examination.
My ideas is you better develop a habit of reading newspaper daily The Hindu.Solve question of reasoning,aptitude and DI.Keep updated on current affairs.Don't spend lot of time .At this stage only two hours of study will be sufficient but it should not be at cost of 12th study.Because it is more important that you do good in 12th class. Marks of 12th will be there with you whole life
Lot of time is there with you for preparing Civil service examination.
