    Civil Services Exam(CSE) is conducted by for UPSC every year 24 services/posts.
    After clearing CSE
    you can get posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc.
    Posts are allotted to aspirants based on their rank in the
    Final Merit list.

    UPSC CSE
    is conducted in 3 stages viz.
    1.Prelims/CSAT Exam
    2.Mains Exam
    3.Interviews


    CSAT stands for Civil Services Aptitude Test.
    CSE-2013 Prelims/CSAT exam will be held on 19.05.2013.

    CSE 2013 Exam notification was expected on 02.02.2013 but it has still not been declared.
    CSE Exam notification 2013 may be advertised in the coming months in the Employment News/Leading newspaper dailies/UPSC websites.


    Exam Pattern :
    CSAT Exam-It consists of 2 papers of General studies.Questions are multiple choice objective for the 2 papers.
    The test papers are set in English and Hindi.Maximum total marks for CSAT Exam is 400 marks.
    General Studies Paper - I
    200 Marks
    General Studies Paper - II
    200 Marks

    Mains Exam-is conducted to test the indepth knowledge and intellegence of the candidates.It consists of total 9 Papers and 2000 marks is the total weightage of Mains exams.Two Optionals subjects have to be chosen at this stage and 2 Papers of each subject prepared.



    Paper-II
    English (Qualifying Paper)
    300 Marks
    Paper-III
    Essay
    200 Marks
    Papers IV & V
    General Studies (300 Marks for each paper)
    600 Marks
    Papers VI, VII, VIII & IX
    Any two subjects (each having 2 papers) to be selected from the prescribed optional subjects (300 marks for each paper)
    1200 Marks
    Total Marks for Written Examination
    2000 Marks

    Interviews-is the test of Personality of candidates.Total weightage for interviews is 300 marks.It is the last stage of selection for CSE.
    Candidates sucessful in the interviews are ranked in a Merit List and posts are given based on these ranks of the aspirants.
    Toppers in the Final merit lists are given posts desired by them.They get the best of posts like IFS,IPS,IAS,etc.

    CSAT means the Civil Service Aptitude test

    This Year it is conducted on the May 19, 2013


    This exam is conducted by the UPSC.This is the preliminary Exam of the civil service departments. The candidates who want to join the Civil services such candidates must clear the CSAT exam.

    ** Current Affairs
    ** General Aptitude

    Pattern Of the Exam

    ## General Studies and Current Affairs � Paper 1
    ## General Aptitude Test � Paper 2

    The candidates must have the following eligibility conditions

    =>They must be Indian citizen
    =>The candidates must be graduate from the recognized college
    =>The candidates age should be minimum 21 years

    About the Notification

    The candidates can get the Exam Notification in the employment news papers and also in the daily news papers.

    CSAT Preliminary Exam :-

    (Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.

    1. Current events of national and international importance
    2. History of India and Indian national movement
    3. Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
    4. Indian Polity and governance � constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
    5. Economic and social development � sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
    6. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
    7. General science.

    (Paper II) (200 marks) � Duration : Two hrs

    1. Comprehension
    2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
    3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
    4. Decision making and problem solving
    5. General mental ability
    6. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. �Class X level)
    7. English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
    8. Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.

    The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

    CSAT Mains Exam :-

    Paper I- is Contain Indian language which is to be selected by the candidate 300 marks.
    Paper II- Contain English Language - 30 marks.
    Paper III- is Contain essay section and - 200 marks.
    Paper IV and V- both the papers Contain of general studies - 300 marks.
    Paper VI to IX- these both are optional papers - 300 Marks.
