There is a huge difference between the IPS and the IES so never compare these two with each other.
If you like to give the IPS examination then you need to apply for the civil services examination and if you like to apply for the IES then you need to apply for the engineering services examination for the same.
Well as per me it will be better for you to go for the indian police services because there you can get the biggest post of india in the civil services.
So here is the eligibility criteria for the same as follows-
Eligibility criteria for the Civil services examination-
Age should be 21 to 30 years of age.
Graduation in any discipline from a recognised university can apply for the same.
Age relaxation for the civil services examination is as follows-
SC/ST 5 years.
OBC 3 years.
Ex servicemen 5 years.
Disabled defence officer in army during war for commissioned officer 3 years of age relaxation.
Examination pattern-
CSAT stands foir the civil services aptitude test which is the first stage of the examination. It consist of 2 papers and both general studies of 400 marks total.
MAINS examination is if you qualify the examination CSAT then called for the Mains examination.
There will be 9 papers of 2000 marks .
By qualifying the same candidates are called for the interview.
Interview consist of 300 marks.
If you like to apply for the IES then you need to fulfill the criteria as follows-
age should be 21 to 30 years.
Qualification should be graduate in engineering any branch from a recognised university.
Examination pattern will be like this -
Paper 1 objective general ability test.
Part A general english.
Part B general studies 200 marks.
Paper 2 and 3 objective- civil engineering /mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/electronics and telecommunication engineering. 200 marks for each paper.
Paper 4 and 5 will be conventional type.
Civil engineering/mechanical engineering/electrical engineering/electronics and telecommunication engineering 200 marks for each paper.
Total marks will be 1000 for the written ecxamination.
Personality test 200 marks.
