Re: Is DME Qualification enough for Writing UPSC exam?
Hello,
If DME means diploma in Mechanical Engineering then I have to tell you that the Minimum Qualification for UPSC examination is Graduation Degree.
If you have B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering then of course you can appear in IES examination of UPSC i.e. Engineering Services examination.
There are four categories in IES examination:
1. Civil Engineering
2. Mechanical Engineering
3. Electrical Engineering
4. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
So, you can see if you have B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering then you can fill up the form for category 2.
So, you should take admission in 2nd year of B.Tech and when you appear in your Last semester Exam of Your University then also you can fill up the form of UPSC.
For general Graduation you can fill up the form of IAS/IPS/IFS etc.
Wish you all the best,

Re: Is DME Qualification enough for Writing UPSC exam?
dear for writing upsc exams the minimum qualifications required is graduation from a recognized university or institute and age of the candidate should be atleast 21 years and should not be more than 30 years this age criteria is for general candidates and for OBC and SC/ST candidates their age relaxation of 3 years and 5 years for SC/ST candidates respectively. so as DME is a diploma so no your qualification is not sufficient to write a upsc exam minimum qualification should a degree from a recognized institute.

Re: Is DME Qualification enough for Writing UPSC exam?
Dear candidate,A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is not enough for a candidate to be eligible to write the Civil Service Exams conducted by the UPSC.
The minimum educational qualification,to be eligible is to hold a degree of graduation or equivalent from an UGC recognized university,or being a final year student in the same.
So if you are eager to appear for these exams, then you need to upgrade your educational qualifications.
Good Luck.

Re: Is DME Qualification enough for Writing UPSC exam?
Dear Aspirant
Sorry to say that you can't appear in the upsc exam
on the basis of your diploma in mechanical engineering
As for the civil services and Ies exam you at least need to be pass
In graduation for the cse exam need to be pass in graduation and
For the Ies exam need to be pass in b.tech degree from a recognized University
And the age required for the exam:
For the open category 21-30
And relaxation given to the obc and sc.st of 3 and 5 years
And as you said on the basis of your diploma can you appear in the upsc exam
And the answer is no because diploma is not equivalent to degree
Best of luck
