    Re: Does the UPSC conducts exams for MO(Medical Officer) after BAMS?

    UPSc does not conduct any competitive exam after BAMS. It only conducts Combined medical services exam every year for MBBS doctors. However UPSC recruits BAMS candidates as medical officer under direct recruitment. That is whenever there is vacancy UPSC will release a special recruitment notification for selection of BAMS medical officers
    ELigibilty for such exam:
    1) A degree in Ayurveda of a recognised university recognised under Indian medicine central council act, 1970
    2) Enrolment in state or central registry of Ayurveda
    3) Age limit:
    not more than 35 years for general;
    not more than 38 years for OBC;
    not more than 40 years for SC/ST
    Candidates will be appointed for probation as per rule.
    refer upsc.gov.in website for more details.
