There are some eligibility criteria which are given below is important for appearing the CDS exam.

CDS stands for Combined defense services. this exam is conduct by UPSC twice in a year.

Eligibility Criteria For CDS is

candidate should be graduate from recognized university
candidate who want to join air force should be completed graduation with subject MATHS and PHYSICS,
candidate who are appearing final year exam are also eligible

Age Limit

For IMA 19 to 24
For OTA 19 to 25
For NA 19 to 22
For AFA 19 to 23

Male and female both candidate are eligible for CDS exam

Candidate should be indian.

Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Combined Defense Service Examination

Indian Military : A bachelor's degree from a recognized university and final year pursuing are also eligible. Age should not be less than 19 years and more than 24 years

Indian Naval Academy : Must posses a bachelor's degree in engineering as BE or B.Tech from a recognized university/institute. Age should be between 19-22 years for this academy

Indian Air Force Academy : Candidate must posses a bachelor's degree with mathematics and physics as a compulsory subject and any one of the - Biology/chemistry/Computer science from a recognized university

Examination Pattern for UPSC CDS Examination - IMA, Naval and Air force

English Language - 100 marks
General Knowledge - 100 marks
Elementary Mathematics - 100 marks

If you choose OTA as your preference then you do not need to appear for mathematics paper and all papers would be conducted in objective type pattern and qualifying standard would be declared on the basis of performance of these three papers

Dear if once you apply for this exam between - 25-05-2013 to 24-06-2013 and then you have to download the call letter for this examination from www.upsc.gov.in then you have to appear for examination at - 8th September 2013 and then after at least 3 months the UPSC board will announce the result and if you qualify the exam then you will be called for SSB Interview and Personality test and if you qualify these all steps then you will be finally selected for your preferred post

For the eligibility criteria for the CDS exam, there are certain requirements
You should be a graduate in any stream and your age should be in between 19-24 years.
But you need to keep this in mind that if you want to join the air force, then you should be having physics or mathematics as your main subjects in the graduation.

CDSE stands for Combined Defence Servicve Examination-the examination is conducted to allow entry for all three wings of defence through four academy
IMA(Indian Military Academy)-a entry in army,OTA(Officers Training Academy)-a entry in army,AFA(Air Force Academy)-a entry in air force,NA(Naval Academy)-a entry in navy
he eligibility criteria for CDSE is as follows
IMA-the educational qualification for applying in IMA is graduation from any stream.
Age limit is 19 to 24 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

OTA-The educationasl qualification required is graduation from any stream.
Age limit is 19 to 25 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

AFA-The educational qualification required is graduation from any stream but with physics and maths in 10+2.
Age limit is 19 to 23 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

NA-The educational qualification required is B.SC(Physics and maths) or a engineering degree.
Age limit is 19 to 22 years(at the time of commencement of the course).

There is no other formality related to CDSE.

CDS is the Combined defense Services.This examination is conducted every year twice.It is entrance examination for the bachelor's degree aspirants who want to join the different academies of defense.

Academic qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university is the minimum requirement for this exam.If you are in final year of bachelor's degree ,then also you can apply for the exams at www.upsconline.nic.in.

For INA ,bachelor's degree in engineering /technology is necessary and for IAF maths and physics at 10+2 level is compulsory.

After Graduation pass,you can apply for CDS exam.
