Dear Aspirant
It is good to tell you that you need not to be in confusion about where to go as per your educational qualifications.Very people have choice in their life. You were slightly lucky enough that you have opportunity to choose. But the point is not that you have opportunity to decide what to decide as it is all about your passion and interests and that is the most important decision you need to make. There are now a days many student who have ability to apper everywhere but if you see the sucess rate very few.
Before I clear my point to you I would like to tell whether you are eligible or not.See both the examination demands a graduation degree from a recognised university as per educational criteria.Only difference is that you need to be graduate from any streams in order to appear civil services but for IES you need to be engineering graduate.Besides this you can give the examination only in one of ELectrical ,Civil ,Mechanical and Electronics & Telecommunication ENgineering as quesion paper are set in only these fields
So first you decide whether you want to be a techincal officer and have deep interest in techincal things. Then whether you can appear for paper specified and you are techincally strong in your subject .If still you have doubt then go for civil services examination.First make a choice if you want to score good or interested in getting a rank as focussed energy leads to result and success.
