Absolutely you can give the exam of IES i.e. engineering services examination, If you complete the 4 year degree course in engineering with any recognized university.
Also you can apply for IAS/IPS/IFS examination. The Age limit for UPSC exam is 21 to 30 years on 1 August of Exam Year i.e. If you are appearing in 2012 UPSC exam then your age should between 2 August 1982 to 1 August 1991.
NO. OF ATTEMPTS FOR THE UPSC EXAMINATION IS Civil Service Examination - General-4, OBC-7, SC/ST- No restriction i.e. IF YOU ARE COMING IN GENERAL CATEGORY THEN YOU HAVE TO ATTEMPT 4 TIMES UPSC EXAM.
AND IF YOU ARE COMING IN OBC CANDIDATE THEN YOU CAN ATTEMPT UPSC EXAM 7 TIMES.
AND IF YOU ARE COMING IN ST/SC CANDIDATE THEN YOU HAVE TO RESTRICTION IN EXAM i.e. YOU CAN ATTEMPT UPSC MANY TIMES WHEN YOU WANT.
IES Means All India Level Entrance Examination and this examination is conducted Once in a year . This year notification was already released and the examination was already completed on 15/06/12 . IES Exams recruitment for Civil Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , Electrical Engineering , Electronics and Telecommunication engineering .
Completed engineering degree in above branches and No minimum marks required for this examination . Final year of degree course may also eligible to apply for UPSC examination . Age should be between 21 years and 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination and upper age limits is applicable .
There is no specific attempts for IES Examination and you can appear for no.of times for this examination .
Apart from IES exam , you can apply for Civil Service , SCRA , CDS Examination .
Civil Service Exam :- completed degree and final year candidates are eligible . Age should be between 21 years and 30 years as on 1st august of the year of examination and upper age limits is applicable . There is a attempts for this examination .
Attempts :- 4 for General candidate , 7 for OBC and No limits is required for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled tribes.
CDS Exam :- completed degree or engineering degree course .
CDS Exam conducts for OTA , IMA , Air force , Naval Academy .
