Different procedure for different UPSC exams, you have not specified for which exam
In case of civil services exam
    1) candidates have to apply via online through upsconline.nic.in, there is no offline application
While filling the application form, care must be taken to enter correct date of birth. Once entered it cannot be modified.
candidates other than female/SC/ST/PH have to pay fees of Rs.50 either thorugh online transfer, credit/debit card or through offline mode via SBI bank and enter the challan number in application form.
A scanned image of photo and signature has to be attached. The details of the storage size and pixel details will be given in the notification, kindly refer
after submitting the form, note registration ID, using this ID only we have to later download admit card.
no need to send any application through post
    2) candidates who have cleared prelims have to fill a detailed application form at the time of mains, indicating the optional subjects, medium to be used etc.
