UPSC means union public service commission. This is the branch of central govt. which conducts examination for various central govt. post like administrative post, Defense post etc.
If you want to appear in IAS/IPS civil services exam, The eligibility criteria for the exam is graduation in any field. The age limit for the exam is between 21 to 30 years. The syllabus of IAS/IPS exam is of two parts. The upsc prelim exam and upsc mains exam. When you will appear in examination then you have to face first prelim exam. After completing prelim exam you have to give mains exam and after you select in mains you have to give Interview and at last if you come in merit list then you will select for the job.
The prelim exam has two papers of 200 marks each. You have to face objective type questions in these papers. The question will come from current affairs, English, History, Geography, Reasoning etc. In mains exam there are 9 papers, in which first paper is language paper in which you have to select the language in which you have good command. After that English, Essay paper will be conducted.
