UPSC means union public service commission. This is the branch of central govt. which conducts examination for various central govt. post like administrative post, Defense post etc.

If you want to appear in IAS/IPS civil services exam, The eligibility criteria for the exam is graduation in any field. The age limit for the exam is between 21 to 30 years. The syllabus of IAS/IPS exam is of two parts. The upsc prelim exam and upsc mains exam. When you will appear in examination then you have to face first prelim exam.
