Well dear clearing ias exam is tough but it is not a impossible task.if a student does hard work with a proper planing then that student can crack ias exam in first attempt.
First of all you should collect the whole syallabus and then get the clear idea of exam pattern.now you should start preparing for that and also go through the previous years papers for a better preparation.you should also go through the daily newspaper for the preparation of current affairs.thank you

Dear AspirantAs per your question,you specify that you are from SC categoryyou have a great opportunity and also some profit in exam alsobut never forgot that in past years the competition in SC categoryalso increased and also if you can't able to clear PRE exam of IAS,then you can't get advantage of.your category.so I suggest you to give a great focus on PRE written exam.which is largely based on General Knowledge and CSATyou need to concentrate on both subjects deeply.because to appear in mains you have ro clear both exams seperately..All The Best...

**seconds,when you are trying any exams,never hope to beat others.just make a try to clear it,if not possible try it again with much more efforts than the earlier .

**follow the syllabubs provided for the exam

**follow the time schedule.you understand much better than anyone else,you know how much time allot to one unit or topic

**read textbook,novel to improve the vocabalory

**watch news and red newspaper to gain Gk,history

**practice model papers.

**if possible you can join for coaching classes,..you know where you stand.
