Is it possible for a candidate to appear IFS and then switch over for IAS exams? Say for example a candidate sits for IFS and in the next attempt he decides to sit for IAS.
Also is it a possibility that a candidate can sit in both the exams (IFS and IAS) simultaneously? If yes then how would be the number of attempts be set, meaning to say if a candidate sits for the first attempt in the IAS, will this attempt be counted for any other exams too, IFS in this case?

yes it is possible to appear both in ifs and ias exams.and you can switch over also. the no. of attempt will be separately counted for both the examination.

As both exams are different from each other so there is no restriction of any kind on any of them by UPSC TO BAR THE CANDIDATE TO SIT.
THEY SEPARATELY CONDUCTED ON DIFFERENT DATES,SO YOU CAN SIT FOR THE BOTH IN SAME YEAR IF YOU MEET ALL THE ELIGIBLITY TO SIT IN EITHER EXAM.

yes it is possible to appear both in IFS and IAS exams and you can switch over also but the no. of attempt will be separately counted for both the examination because for both you have to take the exam conducted by UPSC.
yes it is possible for an individual to switch from ias exam to ifs exam. also he/she can appear in both the exam simultaneously and it will get 4 attempts in both(general category)

yes friend can appear in IFS exam and after that can switch for the IAS exam. Even you can appear in both the exam simultaneously. So there is no such kind of restriction in IFS or Civil Service exam. Civil service exam and IFS exam is conducted once in a year at national level. To crack these exam you need of very hard work and concentration.
