Civil Service exam is conducted at all India level by Union Public Service Commission.
This exam is conducted for the following post of Administration:
IAS (Indian Administrative Service)
IPS (Indian Police Service)
IRS (Indian Revenue Service)
Lots of candidates appear in this exam so the exam pattern will be highly tough.
It consists of three paper.
Preliminary exam ( 400 marks)
It is an objective paper with multiple choice question. There are two papers in the prelims exam and it has qualifying nature. It�s mark will not be added in final merit list.
General studies I (200 marks)
General studies II (200 marks)
Mains exam ( 2000 marks)
It is descriptive paper. Here you will have to elaborate the answer. There are 9 papers under mains exam. In the mains exam you will have two choose two optional subjects. There are approx 25 optional subject in that list. You can choose only two optional subjects. There are following papers under mains exam
Paper I: One Indian language ( 300 marks)
Paper II: English ( 300 marks) (Qualifying nature)
Paper III: Essay ( 200 marks)
Paper IV & V: General studies ( 600 marks)
Paper VI,VII,VIII & IX: Two optional subject ( 1200 marks)
Interview ( 300 marks)
After qualifying written exam candidates will be called for the Interview. Here personality of candidates is tested.
