optional subject-I(two papers of 300 marks each)
optional subject-II(two papers of 300 marks each)
GENERAL STUDIES-I(two papers of 300 marks each)
essay(200 marks)
language paper(qualifying nature)
english paper(qualifying nature)
so a total of nine papers.good luck

English are the compulsory subjects for the mains exams.
