How much time will it take for me to crack IAS? What other post can we get if not IAS?

hi folks . im doing B.E final year. I have been through syllabus and exam pattern.
Can any1 tell me how much time is required to crack IAS and what other post can we get if not IAS ????

To crack the exam you can prepare yourself for an year time as it will be sufficient for you if you really practice it hard with full determination and you can start your preparation from right now and the posts for will you will be applicable are :

* IPS i.e Indian Police Services

* IRS i.e Indian Revenue Services.

Nearly to prepare for Preliminary examinations it will takes 6 months to prepare for Preliminary examinations.
After the completion of Preliminary examination only you are eligible to apply for Mains examination.
