Dear if you want to become a Prominent IAS Officer in India then you have decided a right direction to make your career better than being in a private sector job that gives only tension in career so you should go for Civil Service Exam
As you have completed Bachelor's Degree in Engineering so your educational qualification is enough to apply for this exam but your age should be between 21-30 years and if you have crossed 30 years of age and belongs to reserved category then you can claim for upper age relaxation that is 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST category candidates
If you want to quit form your job then you should because it would be unable to study of civil service exam with being in a job that is why you should quit your job but analyze everything about further one year or more because may be that you could not get prepared well and failed in exam that is why I would suggest you that if you are going to prepare for IAS examination then you should keep applying for other central and state government jobs too so you will test your knowledge and efficiency and preparation level in other exams and if you get qualified then you should join government job then it would be easy to be prepared well with government job otherwise you are a married candidate so you will get more duties after quit the job
You should give some time from your personal life and take your preparation time as you are in job and give at least 10 hours everyday that is enough to be prepared for Civil Service Examination and keep your time table and preparation consistent without leaving a day so your consistency and regularity in preparation will take you to the success and give time to those subjects which seems to be tough in preparation because only that subject will give you success so think positive about preparation and start
