Hello,
In the GS paper, half section is from GS and half from English. To get good rank, you should put your efforts in both the sections.
Both the sections are traditional one do not need frequent updates.
For GS, you can refer to IES MADE EASY books which I think is sufficient in terms of coverage. You should also buy current affairs book published by IES MADE EASY.
For English, you should first see the previous papers and identify the type of questions they ask everytime. Take any good book of English grammar and read the required sections.
Also, you should put some efforts in remembering the meanings of English words as only then you would be able to answer questions on synonyms and antonyms.
Mind it, attempting less but correct is the key.
