prepare for english and political science and genral knowledge and history..etc try to solve old papers of civil exams
prepare with some impotant book of current affairs and eglish, social studies
you have read newspaper daily, watch news, current affairs, and most importantly you basics should be clear for civil services exam so firstly read NCERT books of history, geogrphy, sociology, science get well prepared with all these things then refer other authors book and there are many authors books available in the market, so go standard books, i would suggest you to take guidance of previous years students who have passed the exam, because they will guide correctly.. my suggestion would be 1st you need to complete preparing for mains ,if nt deeply atleast the 2 subjects which you have kept as a obtion with in a month or 1n a half month.need to memorize all the main topics in the choosen subjects.
as v know preliminary has 2 papers that is general studies and csat ,need to go through 6 th th 12th studies all text books completely revise thoroughly and for c sat many practise books are available u can practise them.

For civil service examination, you have to go through various current topics on both national and international by reading daily newspaper and also various types of competitive exam magazines. Still if you wish, then you can join any coaching center where these are taught for the civil services.
