The minimum academic qualification that you need to possess to take up this exam is by completion of Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

So, I suggest you to have strong preparation of the following areas

-Aptitude
-General Awareness which are a part of CSAT Exam.

If you have qualified in the CSAT Exam, you will have to appear for Civil Services Main Examination.

Dear, Clear your B.Com 2nd and 3rd year with your best. It will help you to prepare for your Optinal subjects. Secondly, now onwards read daily newspaper, Editorial column, NCERT Books for General Studies, etc. Buy a book for particular Exam for which you want to appear i.e. CDS, Civil Services, Indian Economic Services, etc. Good Luck...!!!

For upsc exam, you can prepare from rigt now. Take the book like csat, some aptitude and reasoning books, and also prepare some books of history, economics, political science etc. To participate in upsc exam, one should be an all-rounder.

prepare through ncert books of 9and 10th.many books are also available in market related to subject

preparation must be done keeping in mind your subject of interest..start preparing first from your commerce subject..,in addition to that follow ncert books..,make a competence and a firm hold in your commerece subject that u want to keep as alternative..

You will have to take some coaching classes if you really want to crack UPSC exams.Just always keep in touch with daily newspapers and employeement news magazines where notifications and details of these exams are given.Prepare yourself up-to-date with aptitude tests, general knowledge etc.Best of luck!

Its quite simple all we need to do is to make some time and look after the general knowledge and if possible we cn also join coaching classs for better preparation.

Any way you want to complete your graduation then only you can appear UPSC examination.....
you can start preparation now itself
its a process of total 1 and half years....first you want to pass the preliminary exam (objective ,12 subjects)
after qualifying that you can appear mains (descriptive, 9 elective subjects)
after qualifying main you will be short listed to personal interview you can attempt this up to the age of 30.

you can follow csat book and also books like political science, history, gk, aptitude and reasoning etc.

UPSC means Union Public Service Commission
upsc exams every year such as NDA,SRCA,CDS,IAS,CPF,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc
CDS,IAS,CPF,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc are based on graduation . being in your 2nd year you should try n manage your time so that you can proper time to ever aspect of your studies along with preparation for civil services . be focused and determined towards your goal you will surely achieve your goal
.i would say it is the best way for preparing for civil services exam as it is a tough nut to crack indeed. but nothing is impossible in this world . the applicant who clear the civil services exams are also one of us .they are got anything special that help them to clear the exams . it is because they are so determined and focused for their goal to become an IAS or an IPS officer to serve our nation .along with this you can try for cds through which you can become an army ,air force,or an naval officer
one more thing that can help you to achieve the goal of becoming an IAS or an IPS officer is self analysis. by sef analysis i mean to say is when you analyse yourself you would come to know where is the problem is between you and your goal.
