I completed 12th from NIOS. Will I face any problem in Civil Services Final selections?

Can a NIOS class 12 stream 2 marksheet pose any problem in civiil services final selection?

I have passed my class 12th from NIOS (stream 2) and then I appeared for improvement exam as well in 1 subject for improving my percentage as I had 59.9% in 1st attempt and I got 67% by virtue of improvement exam in 1 subject. I have completed my engineering degree and am confident about making it to civil services. But I am a bit apprehensive if my improvement exam mark sheet could pose any problem in the final selection . Kindly clear my doubt.

Selection Process of UPSC Board in Civil Service Examination

Written Examination : Following parts of written examination :

Preliminary Examination - 2 objective type papers for 400 marks in that each contains 200 marks and papers are - General Studies and CSAT - Civil Service Aptitude Test

Qualifying in this examination is necessary for all candidates to get approval for main examination and if you will fail in this exam then you will not be eligible for main examination so prepare well

Main Examination : Following 7 papers will be conducted in conventional type pattern and passing in each is obligatory so prepare according to that

Paper I - This paper will have two sections separately that are - Section I for Essay Writing that contains 200 marks and Section II contains English Language and Comprehension for 100 marks and remember that you have to secured minimum passing marks in both sections = 300 marks

    Paper II - General Studies I - 250 marks

Paper III - General Studies II - 250 marks

Paper IV - General Studies III - 250 marks

    Paper V - General Studies IV - 250 marks

Paper VI and VII - Selected Optional Subject - 250 marks

List of optional subjects will be provided to you while applying for main exam in application form so you can choose any one subject from that list and get two papers based on that subject

Total Marks for Main Examination - 1800

Personality Test - 275 marks and only those candidates will be called who will pass main examination by securing minimum qualifying marks in each paper

Physical and Medical Standards Test - Applicable for all qualified candidates and they will have to show medical and physical fitness certificate to the panel of experts of recruitment board

So this is the complete recruitment process where preference is only to those candidates who will secure higher marks in examination and mainly in main exam of this test because preliminary examination is only to just take the test of all students and find out eligible candidates for main exam so that is the elimination test and main exam contains 1800 marks then personality test contains - 275 marks so grand total - 2075 marks and your selection will be decided on the rank secured out of 2075 marks

You should try to secure more and more marks in each paper of Main exam and for that you need to give more time for preparation and respectively give at least 6 hours everyday only for a subject then you will see good proficiency in each subject and you will be able to get more marks from the board and to learn tricks and other strategies to follow in examination, you should take help of experts and experienced teachers available in various coaching institutes of UPSC exams so they will guide you better in this situation and you will get enough assistance and guidance for examination

If you think that you will not get the preference due to being a student of NIOS board that is a open national board then you should not think about it because NIOS board is a reputed board and certificates provided by the board are accepted at all level of competition in India so just think about the preparation and do not worry about the recognition of the board and value of your certificates

    All the best

    No Friend,
Do not get so much worried about the board you have completed your 12th level.

    The Selection Procedure is:-

    >>Preliminary Exam

    >>Mains

    >>Interview.

If you are able to score good marks in the preliminary and mains then you will not be facing any problem. It is the marks that what matters.

The candidates need to have a graduation degree from a valid and recognized university. There is nothing stated for the 12th level board or any marks criteria.

So prepare well and do well in the exam.
