    Examination Pattern for UPSC IAS exam 2013 : There would be following sections in IAS exam :

    1. Preliminary Exam : This is the first test in this exam which would be conducted only in objective type pattern, and there would be two papers conducted as - General Studies - I and CSAT - II and both question paper contains 400 marks means 200 for each and dear remember that qualifying in each paper is necessary to be eligible for next step.

    2. Mains Examination : This is the second test in this exam which would be conducted only in conventional type pattern and there would be various 9 papers conducted in this exam and qualifying in each paper is necessary and you would also have to choose any two subjects in this exam as optional and the complete examination pattern and list of optional subjects is following :

    1. Paper first - Any one Indian Language - 300 marks
    2. Paper Second - English Language - 300 marks
    3. Paper third - Essay - 200 marks
    4. Paper Fourth and Fifth - General Studies - I & II - 300 marks each
    5. Paper Sixth and Seventh - Any one selected optional subject as I & II - 300 marks
    6. Paper Eighth and ninth - Any one selected optional subject as I & II - 300 marks

    Total marks alloted in mains exam for all 9 papers - 2000

    List of optional subjects from which you can choose any two for mains exam :

    Agriculture
    Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science
    Anthropology
    Botany
    Chemistry
    Civil Engineering
    Commerce and Accountancy
    Economics
    Electrical Engineering
    Geography
    Geology
    History
    Law
    Management
    Mathematics
    Mechanical Engineering
    Medical Science
    Physics
    Philosophy
    Political Science and International Relations
    Psychology
    Public Administration
    Sociology
    Statistics
    Zoology

    Dear you can choose any two subjects from the above mentioned list and prepare for your mains exam

    Interview Process : If you successfully get qualified in mains exam in all 9 papers then you would get an interview call to face your personality test in the UPSC board and this process contains 300 marks and remember that, this is the final step of this exam and if you are prepared well then you can qualify and become an IAS officer in India

    Note : Dear for your kind information that the marks of mains exam and interview process, both are responsible for your selection so that you should prepare well for both mains and interview process and if you score highest in the mains exam then there would be more chances for your selection in interview

    Dates for upcoming IAS exam for prelims : UPSC board were announced the dates for application form from 2nd of february but due to some unforeseen circumstances the board has canceled the dates and did not announce any new dates and any other information regarding to the preliminary exam so dear to get information about the exact dates of online application, you should keep visiting at www.upsc.gov.in

    UPSC is going to conduct preliminary exam at - 19th of may 2013

    Dear you should not worry about the registration dates and prepare hard for this exam and if you have taken any good coaching and prepared well for this exam then you should revise your material whatever you have studied and be prepared for this exam and don't wait for the opportunity, be ready for the opportunity so dear you should only care about your study not about the exam and when the exam comes you should enter and get qualified at once.

    Dear Friend

    IAS stands Indian Administration Services.It is considered to be the most respectable and prestigious services of Central government.The examination which is conducted for this service is Civil services examinations organised every year by the UPSC.

    In a nutshell,I am telling you about the eligibility criteria for the civil services that is you need to have bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university.You age must be between 21-30 years with age relaxation for the obc and sc/st respectively.You must be an Indian citizen.

    The important dates for the Civil services examination is as below:

    Date of notification:02/02/2013


    Last date of applying online:04/03/2013


    Date of examinations: 19/05/2013.

    The date of main examination of civil services is after five to six months ,generally it is conducted in November.


    The pattern for the civil services examination along with the topics for the it are :

    1.Preliminary exam


    2.Main examination:


    The last stage is personal interview.
