Minimum Educational Qualifications

The candidate must hold a degree of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University Under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

Generlly, for UPSC exams, Graduation (like BA/BSc/BTech/BCA/BBA/BArch/BDS/MBBS etc) is required, but these degerees must be from a UGC recognized university in India.

but for CMS(combined Medical Services) only MBBS can apply and IES(Indian Engineering Services) only Engineering Graduates can apply.

to apply for ups exam like civil services ,ifs etc the basic requirement is graduation from a recognized university .
it can be in any field or subjects or an engineering course with any subjects there no concern about this to apply for upsc exams.
