My age is 22 yrs 4 months. Can I sit for CDS exam?

i am a final year student of mechanical engineering, my age is 22 yrs 4 months, i want to know upto what age can i sit for cds exams and for what courses ?

ofcourse,you are eligible but not for all wings.
as CDS(Combined Defence Service) are conducted twice in a year on the be-half of UPSC.
also,
it has some eligibility criterion,which you have follow;
�unmarried & nationality
�have graduation or in final year of 4years program

for indian navy- 19-22 yrs
indian air force- 19-23 yrs
indian army- 19-24 yrs
so,
you are eligible for only two wings as "indian air force & army".

2)- required % is 55 in graduation.

You can definitely sit for the CDS examination but you cannot apply for indian navy after this age as the age for the indian navy is till 19 to 22 years of age and you havce crossed that limit.
so leave it behind and look forward there are three more options for you.
-Indian air force academy: your age should be 19 to 23 years for the same and you need to have graduation with physics and mathematics to apply for the same.
-Indian millitary academy: your age should be 19 to 24 years of age to apply for the same and graduation in any discipline can appply for the same.
-Officers training academy: 19 to 25 years of age is required to apply for the same.
graduation in any discipline can also apply this.
you need to make sure that you are physically fit and not have any crimnal records.

Following are the eligibility criteria for CDS:
IMA Indian Military Academy - Graduate from any stream age limit 19-24years .Only males
INA Indian Naval Academy- B.Tech/BE or degree in Physics or Mathematics age limit 19-22years.Only males
AFA Air Force Academy- B.E/B.Tech or degree in any course with Physics and Maths at 12th level.Only males.
OTA Officer Training Academy- Degree from any stream age limit 19-25years.Both females and males are eligible.
With your age you can apply for only IMA and OTA as you are over the age for the rest 2 branches.
But you can apply for AFCAT Technical branch or SSC Technical for Army.These vacancies are for Technical branches only and the age limit is also high 20-27years.

Yes friend you can easily give CDS exam as it for people of 19-24 years age who have completed their graduation.You complete your final year and then you can easily give CDS exam.

Yes, you can sit for UPSC CDS examination.

You are only not eligible for the Naval Academy. Except that you are eligible to apply for the others academy i.e. Indian Millitary Academy(IMA), Airforce Academy & Officers Training Academy(OTA).

Ok let me specify you the Age limits & the Educational Qualifications :
AGE LIMITS:
Indian Millitary Academy - 19-24 years
Naval Academy � 19-22 years
Air Force Academy � 19 � 23 years
Officers Training Academy � 19 -25 years.
Educational Qualification:
(i) For IMA and OTA: Degree of a recognised University or equivalent.
(ii) For Naval Academy: B.Sc. (with Physics & Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
(iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognised University (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) or Bachelor of Engineering.
Candidates appearing at the degree or equivalent examination also eligible to compete. Such candidates will be required to submit the proof of passing the requisite qualifying examination by a date to be specified in the Commission�s Notice for the Examination.

Yes, Ofcourse you can sit CDS Exam but not for all the wings.
You can sit win for the two wings 1)Indian Army 2) Indian Air Force
Your age lies within the range of these two wings, So you can sit for these wings only.

Eligibilty to apply for the CDS exams is:

Education:
Indian Military Academy (IMA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream
Officers Training Academy (OTA) - Graduation Pass in any Stream
Indian Airforce- Graduation Pass with Physics and Mathematics as subjects in class 12th or BE/BTECH
Indian Navy - BE/BTECH


AGE LIMITS-
IMA- Between 19- 24 years
OTA Between 19- 25 years
NAVY - Between 19- 22 years
AIR FORCE - Between 19- 23 years


Since you have already completed 22 years and 4 months and by the time next CDS exams notifications would come you would already be 23 years old

So when next CDS exams notifications comes out you would only be eligible to apply for the IMA and OTA wing of the CDS exams
