IES recruits in electronics & telecommunication, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering streams. In that case, well,I am afraid you can't apply here. But you can always apply in IAS provided you complete your graduation.I see you are in third year and not even in your final year,so I am sorry you have to wait.Until then complete your graduation with good percentage and try in IAS.It's a highly-estemeed job, possibly a dream job.Good Luck!

    My Dear Aspirant

Yes you can apply for the Ias exam

But you have to write the civil services exam for the post

And the criteria for the upsc exam is :

Age limit: The candidate age should be between 21-30

And the relaxation will be given to the obc of 3 years

And the relaxation for the sc.st candidates is 5 years

And for the ph candidates is of 10 years

Educational: The candidate should be pass in graduation from a recognized indian university

Or a final year student can also apply for the exam

As you said you are doing b.tech then on your b.tech basis

You can apply for the exam

    Best of luck

    Dear Aspirant,
-Having completed your BTech in Mining,You are definitely eligible for bother The CIVIL SERVICE EXAMS and The INDIAN ENGINEERING SERVICE EXAMS.
-While all Graduates can apply for the Civil Service exams, all BTech holders may apply for the IES exams.
-The age limit for both these exams are 21 To 30 Years, the upper age limit being relaxable by 3 Years for OBC and by 5 Years for SC/ST candidates.
-I would recommend you to choose from within the ARTS subjects for the CIVIL SERVICE exams.
The subjects like INDIAN HISTORY,PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION,POLITICAL SCIENCE,GEOGRAPHY and SOCIOLOGY are particularly very scoring, and form the core of the Paper-I of Preliminary exams Too.
-For the IES exams,You will have to choose within these FOUR subjects only, namely,

    *Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering
    *Electrical Engineering

Re: Can a B.Tech student of Mining branch is eligible to apply for IAS or IES exam? Which subject should I choose for these exams?

After completing your B. tech from mining stream you are eligible for the IAS exam but not the IES exam...
because IES recruits in electronics & telecommunication, mechanical, electrical and civil engineering streams only So, perhaps you will not get chance in the IES exam
but surly you have an option to give the IAS exam......
Other criteria for IAS are following......
    AGE CRITERIA-------
    21-30 for general
    21-35 for OBC
    21-35 for Sc/St
    21-40 for PH
There is no restriction over the graduation percentage of marks....
And you must be the citizen of India......

IES recruits inside gadgets & telecom,technical,electro-mechanical as well as civil architectural streams. In that case, properly,I will be frightened you are unable to apply here. But you are able to apply inside IAS provided anyone full ones graduation.I see you are in next 12 months and never even one last 12 months, hence I hate to you will need to wait.Until and then full ones graduating having great percent and try inside IAS.you are considered pertaining to IAS as well as IES exam. just after B.Tech inside Mining. Nonetheless, unfortunately that subject matter isn't included in UPSC's report on Elective Subjects. Consequently, that you are expected to organize pertaining to optionla subject areas according to this list.
Beloved, considering you've Scientific disciplines background you can endure Scientific disciplines subjects. As for each us Hormone balance as well as Physics is right for you.
Nonetheless this is not obligatory you must pick Scientific disciplines subject areas only. you can also pick Disciplines subjects.
