Which one between CAT and GATE is better and have more career prospects?

It is totally depends on your personal interest,

you have to decide it that, in which field you have more interest

whether you wan to go for M.tech or or you want to go for the

Management.That is if you give GATE exam you will do M.Tech

and if you go for CAT you have to do MBA.so it is totally depends

on you .If you have interest in technical field then you must go

for M.Tech.

After doing M.Tech you can go for research of can apply for

At last I would like to tell you that both are different exam,and

to me GATE is easier than CAT

the GATE syllabus is mostly based on technical .

CAT is enterance exam for taking admission in a managment institute in india, while GATE is give fot persuing M. TECH in different colleges in india
so CAT and GATE are two completely different things .
and between the two i think CAT is better because u get a manger post after competing MBA while after M.TECH u still get an engineering post

it is up to u if u want to become a real engineer or teacher u wil hv to crack gate n if u want to becom a manager then u wil hav to fight cat..cat is d toughest exam bt gate is moderrate u can crack it with little concentrated effort .....if u belong to middle clas family den it wil b beter fr u to go fr gate ....thnks for yor qury..

Comparing CAT and GATE is an extremely tough job as they both are meant for different working arenas... CAT is for the management aspiring students while, GATE is for M.Tech or Research....

So, before approaching for CAT or GATE after Bachelors..the student must judge his inclination for either management or research...And as far as scope is concerned - then CAT may lead you to IIMs and GATE may lead you to IITs... none is less in opportunities...

Hi dear, cat is entrance test for mba as well as gate is for m.tech, both are masters program but subject is different .mba is a manager level it depends on targets, marketing, finance etc. M.tech is a industrial level,if you want to become an enigineer in peak levels please go through gate and get m.tech or if u like become an manager level go through cat .but if u select cat get good score and get a seat in top b-schools, if gate means get a seat in university level iit ok,all the best

Its completely your choice if you want to explore more in the world through marketing, finance or to again extra knowledge on management things you better do an MBA and also if you want to make more money very soon it should be your perfect choice and if you love studying you can go for GATE it will be the best choice for you because in both the cases you will earning good amount of money(i.e. handsome salary) but in case of an MBA you will be doing getting a bit more salary.....but equally both GATE & MBA both are good and its depend on once interest and dedication for it.

CAT is common admission test for MBA course which i myself is pursuing.GATE is for M.TECH ie Masters in technology.CAT is open for all arts,commerce,science and engineering students and even working professinals.Toppers of CAT enter into IIMs and that of GATE enters in IITs.Depending upon your area of interest you should prepare ahead.If you are not from engineering or science maths or it background,you can't go for M.TECH.

CAT is to get MBA seat in any of the Indian management colleges.
GATE is to get M.E/M.Tech seat in any of the Indian Engineering & Technological Institutions. if u get qualified with good percentile in GATE means, u can
apply to PUBLIC SECTORS like BHEL, NPCL,ONGC,PGCIL,BEL,SAIL, etc., for job. not only that u can also apply for BARC for scientific officer post.

so according to me GATE has more career opportunities than CAT.

If you have complete your graduation with BE/B.Tech then i think you should go for GATE examination.their lot of best option for your future.

CAT is for MBA and GATE is for M.Tech. If u wants ti do engineering + somewhat business than must choose MBA otherwise M.Tech

I suggests you for CAT(common admisssion test) over GATE, many of my friend who join as an engineer in many company either by doing M-tech or B-tech later on go for MBA for managerial level post for which they are not eligible earlier, to grab coveted post in their companies.MOREOVER company itself sends their employees for pursing MBA. so relevancy of MBA is more than M-tech.
also in management you can join any company irrespective of specific types while thruogh GATE you become a specialized engineer who can join only particular company of its SPECIALIZATION.

for mba there are many entrance exam's ranging from state colleges,XLRI,IIMS,GRE_MAT many other's.

Both CAT and GATE are an entrance examination to take admission in post graduate course but both in different fields. CAT is related to Managerial field and GATE is related to Technical field. If you want to make admission in Mba then CAT is best option and for M.tech, Gate would be the best option. Through common admission test (CAT) you can enter into IIM's and through Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) enter in IIT's , NIT. So it's all depended upon your interest and education background.

As for as my views are concerned that you should prefer for CAT than GATE because the Management scope is more in India and Abroad than Engineering and those candidates who qualifies CAT - Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institute of Management are more preferred in various departments and if you complete your MBA from Indian Institute of Management or XLRI or Symbiosis or AIMA then you may get a huge paid placement in India and abroad too so that you should prefer CAT than GATE
