Yes, you are eligible for appearing in the IES exam when you are in your final year of engineering.
Your university should be under AICTE norms if you have to write the exam.
If your university is under AICTE norms then there is no need for you to worry and you can start preparing for the IES exam now itself.
You can write the exam if you are under 30 years of age. and 35 years for sc and st.
For unreserved categories there is limited number of tries that you can give and later on you wont be eligible. It is normally 5 tries for unreserved categories and 7 tries for reserved categories.
So study hard and enhance your knowledge. It is better you attend some coaching classes.

You can apply for the IES exams but you need to show your degree while in the submission of the forms and other documents,basically the minimum criteria for applying in the IES is graduation in any stream,so you need to present your degree in order to sit for the exams,so if your university provides you with the degree before the exams then you can apply,as the basic criteria behind the application is B.TECH from any stream.
