UPSC organizes two exams for the defense services

NDA ( National Defense Academy)

CDS ( Combined Defense Service)


Both exams are conducted twice in a year.


NDA exam is conducted at Intermediate Level. Through NDA exam you can join Air Force


Eligibility Criteria for NDA

You must be Intermediate passed from valid board

You must have math and Physics as compulsory subject for navy and Air Force.

Age must be 16.5 to 19 years

You must be Indian.

You should be unmarried.

Only male candidates are eligible for NDA exam.


You can also join Air Force after completing graduation.

In Such case you should completed you graduation from Engineering.

After completing graduation you can appear in CDS exam.

candidate must be an indian male.
