yes its possible, more then candidate prepared in our degree course inverse.
dear the answer of this question is only you. it is upto you whether you can manage your B.tech study with your preparation for IAS. it depends on your capabilities, stamina and schedule. if you manage both B.tech and IAS preparation only then think about it else leave it and prepare after B.tech.
we found two types of candidates one who do preparation for IAS while studying in graduation and second start preparation for IAS after completion of graduation. there is no matter regarding this.
IAS is competitive exam you need lots of concentration and hard work. this will take you towards success.
for IAS you have to write Civil Services Exam that is conducted by UPSC. For Civil Services you need graduation in any discipline from recognized college or university. your age should be within 21 years to 30 years.
you have to apply for the exam online on following link:

Good Luck......
hello .........
first of all,one thing i tell you that you must be completely known about your career i.e. whether you want to go for studies in P.G. courses or not.
and
if you want to start your ias preparation instead of further degree courses,it will be good if you start your preparation after your U.G. degree.
because according to me.......everyone should do perfect in his field whatever he is doing.it is possible only when you focus on on thing.
ya,1 thing i should recommend you that start learning newspaper and read your courses books deeply so that when you start ias preparation you can easily select the subjects of your degree stream....thanx..

Dear Friend
Your are in final year of bachelor's degree in technology and you are willing to start preparation for the Civil services examination. Its good but as we all know that Civil services examinations is the toughest entrance exam of India which three hurdles:
1.Civil services aptitude test
2.Main exam
3.Personal interview.
Yes ,it is true that if would be difficult to manage both Civil services exam preparation and the final year projects, seminars and other college activities. It totally depends upon you whether you will be capable of doing both or not.
To be very frank there are limited attempts for the Civil services exam that is four for general candidates and seven for obc and no limit for SC/ST candidates.
However from my point of view you should go for the preparation in final year by joining a good coaching institute as when you will prepare during final year for exam and give it consuming your one attempt you will get idea about the exam which types or questions are there if you are unsuccessful you may realize what was missing ,so you can work upon it and again give exam in next year.
Please mind examination is tough 4-5 lacs of candidates fight for mere 900 seats. So strong determination with full concentration is needed to get success in this exam.
Best institutes for preparation:
>>Civil services academy
>>Rao's IAS study circle
>>Chanakya's IAS academy
>>Vajiram and Ravi IAS academy
>>Khan study group.
Note: You will need to give at least 4-5 hours extra for Civil services exam preparation other than college studies .So please manage your time wisely and do not waste it.

hi
yes my dear friend it is very much possible for preparing the IAS exam being into the final year of your graduation. All you need is a best time management and complete dedication towards your goal for becoming an IAS officer. you should divide your graduation studies and IAS preparation in the ration of 40-60 respectively. And when the exams of graduation approaches near then you should shift your focis only to those exams.
It completely depends on YOU. Whether you can sustain the pressure it is only upto you. Several candidates start preparing for UPSC exams in Final year of their Graduation and many succeed as well. You have time in hand and most importantly there is not too much to study in Final year if you had been a sincere student in your B.Tech level.
More importantly you being a student is completely in touch with study pressure which may get difficult to handle after starting to work and one fails to maintain balance between work and study.
The best time is now in Final year but you need to think and decide. Take help of your guardians and parents as they know you better.
