When should I apply for Civil Services exam? Am I eligible to apply now being a B.A Economics Final year student?

As i am doing my final year BA.Economics, i want to know when to apply for the exam Sir, as my date of birth is 29th sept,1991.

Certainly, you can appear for UPSC Exam. To become an IAS Officer, the selection procedure is as follows

-CSAT (Civil Services Aptitude Test)
-Civil Services Main Examination
-Interview.

The minimum academic qualification that one should have to possess to become eligible for Civil services preliminary exam is by having a graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.

As per this criteria, you are eligible for IAS Exam as have scored 44% in your BA at graduation level.

Even the canidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for the exam.

For this academic year 2011, Civil services preliminary exam was already over.

-Date of commencement of notification : 04-02-2012
-Last date for the receipt of completed application forms : 05-03-2012
-Date of civil services exam : 20-05-2012.

ELIGIBILITY FOR CIVIL SERVICE:-

--You must completed your graduation to apply in this exam.
--Final year candidates are also eligible for apply.
--Only pass mark is enough to appear in the exam.
--Those who have completed their graduation form technical courses are also eligible to apply.
--Age limit is 21-30 years for general category. For OBC - 3 years of relaxation of age & for SC/ST -5 years of age relaxation.

But for this year last date of submission of form was on 5 march 2012.
So, for this year you can not apply now. You have to wait for 1 more year.

Pattern of exam:-

1) preliminary exam
2)main exam
3)interview

u cannot apply now because of ur age. as on 1st of AUGUST of 2012 u must be completed 21 yrs.
u can apply next year for civil service exam.

AGE LIMIT for general is 21 - 30 yrs
obc is 21 - 33 yrs
sc/st is 21 - 35 yrs
NO.OF ATTEMPTS for general - 4 times
obc - 7 times
sc/st - no limits

if you want to appear in civil service exam . you must be completed your graduation atleast .... after then you can apply for civil sevies exam .
and your age must be 21-30 .........

Civil Service Examination has three stages

1st Stage: Preliminary Exam

2nd Stage: Main Examination

3rd(Final Stage): Interview

as you are in final year than you are eligible to apply because all the candidates who are passed or appeared in final year of graduation are eligible for for civil services examination.

the original and descriptive advertisement of civil services examination is generally released in the month of February every year.

and the exam is generally held in may/june.

yes, you are now eligible to apply for CS(Civil Services) Exam while appearing in final year of B.A. you can also apply for CS exam after completing your graduation.
Eligibility Criteria For CS Exam:
1. Graduation in any field from recognized college or university.
2. Age must be within 21 years to 30 years. there is relaxation for reserved category candidates in upper age limit: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST.
