Friend, I would like to mention here that # Arts stream in academic qualification qualification is not a guaranteed of success in the Civil Service Examination.# Only the thing which is required for success in the examination is both INTENSIVE AND EXTENSIVE STUDY.# Candidate can get success in the Civil Service Examination with academic qualification in any discipline/stream.# There are large number of candidate who are getting success through Science or Non-Arts subjects.# Only your thorough study, severe hard work, proper planing, sincerity, dedication, strong determination and quality study material will help you to get success in the examination.# You should opt any stream of your interest. Deeply go through your subjects and clear the basic concepts.

Arts stream will not provide you with any special benefits as such over other streams.Ultimately, you will need to complete all subjects related to Arts Science and Commerce to qualify.Your Arts stream may help you in getting through the literature paper that is all.Other than that, you will need to know about all scientific happenings, economic and commercial plans and other things for the main papers of General studies and writing. This is about the Mains. For prelims you need to complete the subjects as Physics,Chemistry,Zoology,Botany,Civics,Economics, Geography,History etc.So Arts alone is not the special stream.Choose a stream you are comfortable with and do not take reference with any special stream for CSAT.The qualified candidates are from all the streams in nearly equal proportions.

    dear
The eligibilty criteria for IAS is:
1.You must be a citizen of India.
2.You must have attained the age of 21 years on 1st august of the year of exam and must not have crossed 30 years.
The upper age limit is relaxed by 3 years and 5 years for OBC and SC/ST/PD candidates respectively.

    Educational Qualification:
1.One should have completed Graduation with any of the stream from a recognized university.
2.Candidates who are pursuing final year of Graduation are also eligible to take up this exam.

Hence its not necessary that you should take arts stream. All you need is hard work and through study.

    Thank you

    dear aspirant,

It depends on your interest. If your Interest is in Arts then go for
it or if you have interest in any other stream then go for that. All the streams are equal.
And success in the exam is based on your preparation and Knowledge. It does not matter what you have chose. So i will advice you go for any stream but study from heart and try to clear basic concepts.

If you go for ARTS then i will recommend you to choose History,Geography and Mathematics combination.
