The Hindu is the best newspaper and i think pratiyogita darpad and indian express is a good magazine for UPSC preparation

UPSC Civil Services Exams(CSE) are one of the toughest and most prestigious exam conducted at the All India Level.
UPSC CSE are conducted every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.

UPSC Exam Pattern is :

-Prelims/CSAT Exam-consists of 2 papers of General Studies of total 400 marks.

-Mains Exam-consists of 9 papers of total 2000 marks.Choice of 2 optional subjects is made and 2 papers of each subject has to be prepared.

-Interviews-is the test of personality of candidates and total weightage is 300 marks.

To prepare the General Studies/Knowledge and Current Affairs for the UPSC CSE one must read good Newspapers and Magazines.
Read atleast 2 good newspapers daily and if you get time read more newspapers.
