IES exam stands for Indian Engineering services which is conducted by upsc.
You can apply IES exam if, you have passed a engineering degree;-
Civil, mechanical, Electrical and Ece branch.
Your age should be between 21-30 years.
You must be citizen Of India.
IES exam pattern;-
----IES exam consist preliminary exam,mains exam and interview.
Civil services preliminary exam is conducted 19th may 2013.
Your Engineering degree is passed from a Indian recognized university such as UGC.
If you have passed B.tech degree from the above given branch, then you are eligible for IES exam.

Yes you are eligible of giving the IES exam conducted by the upsc for the engineering field.
The criteria is that you should be having a degree in any of the following branches
Civil engineering
Electrical engineering
Electronics and communication engineering
Mechanical engineering
And age limit for the same is 21-30 years of age. A relaxation of 3 and 5 years is given to the obc and the sc.st category respectively
