UPSC conducts civil services aptitude test (CSAT) each year only one time.
There are 24 posts for which exams are conducted and this includes IAS, IPS AND IFS.
So there are no separate exams for IPS .
Min eligibility criteria to sit in the CSTA exam is graduation pass and age between 21 and 30 yaers
number of attempts- 4 for general candidates.
The top rankers are allocated IFS,IAS AND then IPS.It depends on the number of cvacancied for these postions each year.
But if you want to get IPS you have to be in top 200 candidates in the final result list
DEAR,
there is no any separate exam for IPS ,
if you want to become an ips officer than you have to attend the exam of civil services which is conducted by upsc in every year once.
generally the advertisement for the examination is released in January/February every year.
eligibility criteria:-
1. you must be a graduate.
2. must be indian.
no of attempts and age criteria:-
for general- 21-30 years (4 attempts )
for obc - 21- 33 years (7 attempts)
for sc/st - 21-35 years ( no any restriction.)
there is no any fix ranking for selection but if you got the ranking under 200 than definitely you will be selected.
dear friend,
UPSC conduct CS(Civil Services) Exam for recruits the candidates into 24 categories of Posts and in this IAS, IPS also included.
CS exam is same for all the 24 categories of posts. On the basis of ranking you can get the post.
Generally the candidates who got 150th rank get selected for IPS officer.
Good Luck........
Hi Aspirant
Well Ips : Means Indian Police Service
And if you want to become a IPS Officer then you have to give the
Upsc civil services exam and no their is no separate exam
For the Ips post as it includes in the civil services exam like Ias
And on then the merit basis the post will be given to you
And as far from the point what rank you require
It's very difficult to predict that how much rank your required
Because it will depend on the factors like how many posts available
And how many students are applying and many more
So you have to work very hard if you want this post
But Here is the All Required Criteria for the exam:
~ The candidate should be pass in Graduation from a recognized Indian university
~ The candidate age should be between 21-30
~ Their is age relaxation given to obc and sc,st
~ And ph category candidates of 3,5 and 10 years
~ The candidate should be a citizen of India
Best of luck
