I think that you are not updated with latest changes in the main exam pattern .From the 2013 onwards the pattern for the Civil services main examination will be as below:
So do not go for the M.tech program and continue your preparation for the Civil services exams and try to give your best with full concentration and determination so that you can easily compete the exam .
Please beware it is the toughest examinations of the India ,candidates are filtered through the three different stages and only the best one get chance to join the different services like IAS,IPS,IFS etc.
If you think that your preparation is not going in right manner then do not hesitate and join the coaching institute so that you can prepare well.Kindly try to do self study as much as possible .
