    Dear friend,

as you are aware you have to write a paper on any one of the indian languages mentioned in the eighth schedule.

    MAINS:

    general studies(paper1 and paper 2)
    optional subject-1(paper1 and paper 2)
    optional subject-2(paper1 and paper 2)
    essay
    language paper(qualifying nature)
    english paper(qualifying nature)

if you belong to the north eastern states you are exempted from appearing in this paper. otherwise if you belong to other parts then you have to write the paper.

so if you belong to north eastern states you can claim exemption from writing the paper.if that is the case put yes otherwise put no.

this is how you should fill this part.

    all the best

The paper-I on Indian Languages will not, however, be compulsory for candidates hailing from the North-Eastern States of Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur,
Meghalaya, Mizoram and Nagaland and also for candidates hailing from the State of Sikkim.
If you are from one of these states, you can claim exemption from appearing in this paper. because there are lot of tribal languages spoken there, for whom it will be difficult to appear in this paper.
