    Dear Applicant,
    - No !! It is not at all necessary to have HINDI as one of your subjects in Class 10th,if you are keen to appear the CIVIL SERVICE Exams that are conducted by the UPSC annually !!
    - You can surely manage without them.
    -
You can write the preliminary exams in either of these two languages :: english or hindi.
Here you can opt for ENGLISH !!

    - If you qualify for the mains exams,,then you will have to write one language qualifying paper in English, while the other papers may be written either in ENGLISH or any regional language in which you are comfortable with provided it features in the LIST OP LANGUAGE OPTIONAL SUBJECTS allowed for mains !!

    not at all my friend.

subjects of the candidates are not concerned to apply for the upsc civil services examination.
to apply for the upsc civil services examination the applicant is required to have graduation or engineering degree in any stream with any subjects from a recognized university.

    in my opinion,
you should take those subjects in your graduation that can really help you in the civil services examination.

prepare yourself well for the examination as the number of attempts for the exam are limited

    Number of attempts

    4 attempts for general category
    7 attempts for OBC category
    no limit for SC/ST category.

    Dear friend,

NO NEED TO have hindi as a subject in class 10th class to appear for the civil services exam.

knowledge of hindi is not an eligibility criteria for civil services exam.

somebody has given wrong information to you so dont be misguided.

After you clear civil services exam you will be taught hindi in the training academy which is located in the mussorie.

so dont worry and just keep on focussing on your work

    all the best
