Dear Applicant,
- No !! It is not at all necessary to have HINDI as one of your subjects in Class 10th,if you are keen to appear the CIVIL SERVICE Exams that are conducted by the UPSC annually !!
- You can surely manage without them.
- You can write the preliminary exams in either of these two languages :: english or hindi.
Here you can opt for ENGLISH !!
- If you qualify for the mains exams,,then you will have to write one language qualifying paper in English, while the other papers may be written either in ENGLISH or any regional language in which you are comfortable with provided it features in the LIST OP LANGUAGE OPTIONAL SUBJECTS allowed for mains !!

prepare yourself well for the examination as the number of attempts for the exam are limited
Number of attempts
4 attempts for general category
7 attempts for OBC category
no limit for SC/ST category.
