The Union Public Service Commission i.e. upsc. UPSC conducts civil services examination in which IAS/IPS exam will be conducted. IAS means Indian Administrative Service in which you will get post of Deputy Magistrate and IPS means Indian Police Service in which you will get post of Superintendent of Police.
You can apply online and offline for this exam. For online you can log on to www.upsconline.nic.in. If you want to fill offline form then you can buy the form from Post-Office. But for applying in upsc you should be graduate and your age should between 21 to 30 years.

for the post of IAS UPSC conduct CS(Civil Services) Exam. For CS Exam you need to complete or appearing in final year of graduation in any field and your age must be within 21 years to 30 years.
you can apply for UPSC exams online or offline. you can apply for UPSC exams online on http://www.upsconline.nic.in/
for offline you can buy application form from Post office.
generally Application forms are available in February/march month of every year.

UPSC conducts civil service exam every year on 2nd sunday of may month. the notification is generally issued on the month of january or february. From 2012, application mode is only online. previoulsy, applications are sold through post offices. Now all candidates have to apply via upsconline.nic.in. While filling form you will get to know the details on how to fill. you have to upload scanned images of your photo and signature in the online application
