Well both these terms are used interchangeably these days because they generally have same meaning.

An Entrance Exam is for getting admission in some college or University.

While a Competitive Exam is for getting a job in an organisation.

So from the above meanings you can see that both these terms have somewhat same meaning.

Both entrance and competitive exam have same meaning,actually the whole logic behind this is that,now a days in order to get admission in any college or university or for applying in job ,you have to give entrance exam which will decide whether you will get the job.Now this entrance exam is competitive as there are so many to compete with you.The examination is conducted only to get the best of best candidates for the job,if you look at it precisely everybody will be competing with each other in that sense it is called as entrance or competitive exam.Entrance exam because you will have take the test to make entry and competitive because it is a examination to decide the best through a examination which makes it a competitive exam.

The entrance exam and competitive exams are having same.But the diference is entrance exam you will have to take the test to make entry of any job or college admission and etc.
The competitive exam is a examination to decide the best of best i.e for example in a company need 4 jobs then conduct a examination so many people are attempt that exam in the end only best 4 people are select.this is called competitive examination.

Friend, there is much difference between Entrance Examination and Competitive Examination.Entrance Examination means an admission test for admission in any college or university. Entrance Examination may be conducted for professional courses, technical course etc.Competitive Examination means an open competitive examination for job. Competitive examinations conducted for government jobs, NDA Examination, CDS Examination, UPSC Examination, SSC Examination, Railway Examination, IBPS Examination, etc

Entrance exam used for those from the same field giving the exam for e.g. For M. Pharmacy course only B. Pharmacy is eligible for exam.
In competitive exam people from different discipline can give exam for one field for e.g. UPSC exam, people from diff. background appears in it. usually in competitive exam negative marking system is set. thats why its called as competitive exam. competition between many people at a time.

Competitive exam and Entrance exam both are the same and there is no difference between these words.

Both the words is used for the same thing but there is little difference.

If you are preparing for the exam to take admission in any courses, degree program, engineering , MBA, medical etc then these exam is called the entrance exam as well as competitive exam.

While if you are preparation for the exam to get the jobs like Civil Service, IES, IFS, SSC , CPO and bank etc. Then these exam is only called competitive exam not entrance exam.

There is no much difference between these terms.
Entrance exams are those which are held to get admission into courses in different colleges or universities.
Competitive exams are those which if one clear it directly get placed on some post.

ENTRANCE EXAM:- Entrance exam is for the admission in the colleges or universities.
The selection in the universities are on the marks obtained in the entrance exam.

COMPETITIVE EXAM:- Competitive exam is taken where there is so much competition in the field where posts or seats are very low but the applications is more.
So through the competitive exams the top candidates are chosen for the particular seat or the job.
