The duration of Civil services prelims i.e. CSAT is 2sessions of 2 hours and 200 marks each on a single day.
For mains there will be 7 papers of 3 hours each on different days as informed to the prelims qualified candidates.Paper I will be of 300 marks and the rest 6 papers will be 250 marks each.
After Mains,there will be Interview or Personality test of 275 marks.

The preliminary examination consists of two papers in two sessions in a single day. It has 200 marks on each paper and two hour duration per each. Similarly the main examination consists of 7 papers and 3 hours per each paper. The first paper consists 300 marks only whereas other papers have only 250 marks in each paper. It is nice that you want to join civil service exam.
Exam Eligibility;-
1-You must be passed a graduate degree from a Indian recognized university
2-There is no percentage requirement
3-Appearing in final year candidates are also eligible.
Age limits;-
General age limits is 21-30 years. Age relaxation is given reserved category students.
Civil services exam consist two exam;-
Civil services Preliminary exam consist two papers of General studies having 400 marks.
2 hours are given to each General studies papers.
Civil services Mains exam pattern changed from this year.
2 General Studies Papers and 4 optional subjects papers (2 each)
These 6 papers constitute 1800 marks (300 by 6)
There is an Essay Paper and Personal Interview as well of 200 and 300 marks each, which amounts to 2300 marks
After clearing these two exam,you will be called for Interview.

1)preliminary test
2)main exam
3)final interview
duration of preliminary test=1 day
exam date is 26-05-2013
*candidates who clear the preliminary test will be allowed to appear for civil service main exam
duration for main exam=5 days
date of exam=1-12-2013
-short listed candidates would be call for interview.
