Re: What should I do in my 4 years graduation course duration if my ultimate target is to crack UPSC Civil Services Examination?

Hi there!
I appreciate your dream of serving the nation.
Firstly, you need to write Preliminary exam of Civil Service followed by Mains.
The qualification for the Civil Service is Graduation(Degree). So you need to complete your graduation.
Coming to the Preliminary exam, it consists of General Science and Aptitudes.
And the syllabus for the Preliminary is cover everything intermediate level like GK,Biology, everything.
And the syllabus for the Mains is to select two subjects out of 25 subjects but a combo of same stream is avoided like (Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering).
And an Indian language out of 26 languages.
As you're 11th standard, I'd suggest you to go through newspapers, history(Indian), Geography(India) And the problems arising in your state.
And reading the newspapers is just not the thing, you'd analyse the facts and analyse every stuff you go through.
The main important thing is to prepare notes of it. It helps you to reckon everything when you just have glance at it.
And preparing the notes is very good job because you'll never find anything in any book about certain topic which you surely find in dailies.
Go through two languages of dailies (one, perhaps English and second, your language).
And section of subjects for Mains depends on what course you do in your graduation.
After deciding the course, then go should go through previous year papers.
And you can also join a institute just 2years before writing the preliminary exam.
You should create your own time-table because proper planning and execution is more important for success.
More and more rehearsals are also important!

I wish you all Success!

Dear ,
this is the right time for prepare yourself for the upsc examination but as you are doing your b.tech. /4 year graduation course
than first you should develop the skill of time management in yourself unless the preparation of upsc will spoil your graduation .
You should read the previous classes books and most important it doesn't matter how much course you complete but the matter is that how you complete it ,
i mean you have no need to learn and read all the things because nobody will be perfect in every work but what you learn ,learn it completely .
best of luck......

Dear Friend
If your ultimate aim is to join the civil services of INDIA,then you start preparation form the very first year of graduation .
You must join any one of the given coaching centers in evening after your colleges:
>>TIME

The civil servcies examinations are very tough as there is limited no of seats and the no of aspirants are very large.
For general candidates it is very tough as they get only four attempts and the age for them is 21-30 years.
note: try to solve the old question paper from rigt now because it will give idea
Hope the information help you
