You have three paths to get into indian air force :-
1. You can go through UPSC (may be NDA or CDS) depending upon your qualifications.
2. You can directly go for AFCAT which held twice a year .
3. If you are an aeronautical engineer , then there is one direct entry for them ..

The best way to get into Indian Air Force is through AFCAT.
AFCAT -- Air Force Common Admission Test.
This is an Entrance Exam conducted to recruit the eligible candidate into any of the three posts of Indian Air Force.
With AFCAT, you can get into :
Flying Branch.
Technical Branch and
Ground Duty.
There is different eligibility criteria for these 3 fields, and it is like,
Eligibility criteria For Flying Branch :
You must be a Graduates (Minimum three year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized University.
And must have attained minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers.
And you must have passed Maths and Physics at 10+2 level.
Or BE / B Tech degree (Four year course) from a recognised University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers.
Age: 19 to 23 years
Eligibility criteria For Technial Branch:
You must be an aspirant from Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) or Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) to get into this field.
Age: 18 to 28 years
Eligibility Criteria For Ground Duty :
You can be a Graduate or
3 years LLB
Post Graduates / LLB ( Five years integrated )
M.Ed
Medical Standards :
Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight,
Leg Length : Min - 99 cms. Max - 120 cms.
Thigh Length : Max - 64 cms.
Sitting Height : Min - 81.5 cms. Max - 96 cms.
Vision: Minimum Visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 on other.

10+2 passed with physics and maths
Age-16.5 to 19 years
2)Combined Defence Service Examination
Graduation from any stream with physics and maths
Age-19 to 23 years
3)Air Force Common Admission Test
Graduation from any stream or post graduation.
Age-20 to 23 years(Graduate) and 20 to 25 years(post graduate)
4)UES-University Entry Scheme(through AFCAT)
Engineering degree in pre-final year,third year.
Age-18 to 28 years.
