For civil service examination you don't need to be extra talented.Just develop a habit of reading newspaper daily.Be updated on current affairs and have a habit of regular and continuous study you have to make a study plan and draw deadlines for completion of your subjects and stick to it.Develop a test of writing on any issues after reading about it from various sources.
Choose your optional carefully as you don't have to change in middle of preparation because of vast syllabus or lack of interest or not availability of study material.Half of your hardwork will go in waste.Wish you all the best
