IAS preparation?
hi i m an economics and fashion management student, i wish to take IAS examination. can somebody please help me with what exactly is the process of registration and if i can take the prelims now or is it too late? i cannot afford coaching so is it possible to study from some books on my own n then appear. pleas help

If you like to register for the civil services examination then you can easily register through the online procedure .
For that you need to go to the website called www.upsconline.gov.in
After opening the site there will be options given for the application of the latest examination.So you need to choose the Civil services examination to apply for the IAS examination.
Make sure it all depends on the notification to apply for the examination, if there is no notification then you cannot find the examoptions.
First of all you need to open the civil services application form by the website.
Then you need to fill all the details related to you.
After the completion of the details you will be asked to upload the photo graphs and signature , so for that you need to do a scan of those in the system to upload.
After uploading the photo and signature you will be asked to do the payment, either online or offline.
If you like to pay online then you can use your debit card or credit card for the same.
You can also ue the netbanking for the same.
After making the payment you will get the registration id and password for the same.

The registration for the IAS exam is done online after the notification is out for the exam. The notification for the IAS exam comes out in the month of February every year, and the prelims exam is ben conducted in the month of may.
The for is filled online and the mode of payment is available both in the online and the offline mode.
The fees for giving the exam is rs. 100 only.
