Dear Friend,
To become an Indian Forest Services Officer you need to apply for the Competitive examination.
UPSC conducts Civil Services examination for the posts of IAS, IPS, IFS etc.
So you need to appear in Civil Services examination in order to become an IFS Officer.
Minimum Education qualification required to apply for CSE is Graduation in any discipline from recognised University by UGC.
Your age limit should be between 21 to 30 years if applying in General Category.
Age Relaxation to reserved category is provided as per the rules and regulations of Government and UPSC.
The above 2 are main criteria which candidate needs be possess or be eligible in order to apply for Civil Services Examination.
Coming to subjects, my friend it is highly personal choice as to which subject should be the best.
The perception changes from person to person.
If some candidate opt for Economics as optional that does not mean that it will be easier for you too.
You need to ask yourself as to which subject is suitable as per your qualification.
You need to do thorough research on the subject and its syllabus.
You should ask yourself whether you will be able to prepare for this subject or not.
Best advise would be to discuss with your elders or person who has knowledge of Civil Services.
One of the famous subject in IAS Examination is Public Administration.
Many students opt for this subject because it is highly scoring and can be use to prepare for prelims as well.
I have attached the list of Optional Subjects available to choose from:
Following list of combination of optional subject is not allowed:
>Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration
>Commerce & Accountancy and Management
>Anthropology and Sociology
>Mathematics and Statistics
>Agriculture and Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science
>Management and Public Administration
>Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineeringnot more than one subject
>Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science
Hope it helps you out in your preparation.
All the best.
Regards.
