DEAR friend,


there is no any examination named as IPS examination so if you wanna become IPS officer then you have to apply for the

civil services examination , because it is a combined examination for all the civil services which means if you want to apply any civil

service than you have to apply for the civil services examination .

every year upsc releases its notification for the civil services examination in the month of January/February and the prelims

examination is held in the month of May/June.

but before you apply for the same you have to keep all the basic information regarding the examination.


Eligibility required:-


1. the candidate must have the citizenship of India.

2. only graduate candidate are allowed to take part in the examination .


Age criteria:-


* Not before 21 and not after 30 years for general.

* Not before 21 and not after 33 years for obc category.

* not before 21 and not after 35 years for sc/st category.


Number of attempts allowed:-


the several no. of attempts allowed to the candidates are according to their category .


* 4 attempts allowed to general category aspirants.

* 7 attempts allowed for obc category

* and no any restriction of no. of attempts allowed to sc/st category.

Application for 2013 is already out and last date for applying is also over..... Application for 2014 exam will be out by April 2014.....

IPS exam of 2013 is already published. IPS Preliminary exam is over and Mains exam is conducted at 1 DEC 2013.


Therefore IPS exam of 2014 notification is given into Feb moth of 2

- IPS exam is conducted.

- Well the name of exam is Indian Civil Services Exam.

- This exam is a combined exam for almost 18 various posts of gropu A and B for various government departments.

- This exam is conducted in 3 steps every year:

1. CSAT.

2. Mains.

3. Personal Interview.

- Next exam schedule for ICS is given below:

1. Notification publishment: 17.05.2014.

2. Application starting date: 17.05.2014.

3. Closing date of application form: 16.06.2014.

4. CSAT exam date: 24.08.2014.

5. Mains Exam starts from: 14.12.2014.

- Students who are now in final year graduation and graduate pass students in any stream all can apply for this exam.

- Age limit: 21-30 years on 1.08.2014. OBC: 21-33 and SC/ST: 21-35 years.
